MWITO WINS BIG AT USHIRIKA DAY CELEBRATIONS
It was a great day for Mwito Sacco as the society scooped various awards in different categories at this year’s Ushirika Day celebrations held on 7th July at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi.
The celebration this year was special as it marks 100 years of the Cooperative movement with the theme dubbed “Coops Build Better World” first celebrated in the year 1923. The celebrations did happen last year to contain the outbreak of the Corona virus pandemic. The Cooperative Alliance of Kenya organizes the event, which is a lobby and advocacy movement for Kenya’s Cooperative Movement promoting their growth and development irrespective of political affiliations. The organization draws its membership from over 14,000 registered cooperatives all over the country.
The Sacco was an invited participant as well as being involved in the adjudication process. There were over 15,000 participants each displaying their various products and services to the numerous attendees. Mwito Sacco’s booth displayed our FOSA and BOSA products as well as Mwito Housing which provides affordable housing options for its members. The event’s guests of honor included His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta and the cabinet secretary Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives Hon. Peter Munya.
Mwito Sacco emerged the Most Efficient, Most Improved, Best Managed, Best in Credit Management, Best in Technology Optimization and Best in Risk Management. This only means to prove that the organization is on the right track to greater achievements and in serving our members more efficiently.
